COMMISSIONER REPORTS Commissioner Kuhl reported the Department of Planning and Land Use had a well attended public meeting on September 30th on the proposed Hunterdon County Bicycle Plan. The event was very successful, and the feedback provided by members of the public was both thoughtful and informative. A future public meeting date will be announced soon. Commissioner Kuhl shared he attended the launch of the County's newly upgraded Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System. The system, one of the few of its kind in New Jersey at the county level, modernizes dispatch and recordkeeping for Police, Fire, and EMS operations, creating a unified, countywide emergency response platform. The new CAD system ensures that our J emergency responders have faster access to critical information, better coordination across agencies, and stronger security for Hunterdon County residents. Commissioner Soloway shared that the staff Breast Cancer Awareness Walk is taking This Agenda is Subject to Change 1 [PAGE 2] place this Friday and all donations will benefit Dance for the Cure. As co-liaison for veteran affairs, Commissioner Soloway reminded everyone the 2nd Annual Veterans Resource Fair will take place on Thursday, October 16 at Razberry's Banquet Hall in Kingwood Township. The event is being co-hosted with Congressman Tom Kean and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce. She added the final veterans' headstone cleaning event of 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, at Milford Union Cemetery. Thanks to the continued dedication of our volunteers, nearly 1,500 veteran headstones have now been properly cleaned across Hunterdon County, along with the replacement of American flags and veteran markers at grave sites. Deputy Director Van Doren shared last Friday he joined Commissioners Kuhl and Soloway for the annual goHunterdon meeting and awards breakfast. The event celebrated local achievements in safety, sustainability, and innovation in transportation, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made meaningful contributions to improving mobility and quality of life in Hunterdon County. The LINK, Hunterdon County's primary public transportation system, was recognized for four decades of providing reliable, affordable, and essential transportation services-connecting residents to employment, healthcare, education, and other vital resources. Deputy Director Van Doren congratulated the LINK on 40 years of dedicated service. In closing, he shared information regarding the new HealthEASE program that the Senior Center is offering. Workshops are scheduled for October 15th and 27th. Residents can call the Senior Center for additional information or to register. Director Lanza shared he joined Polytech Superintendent Dr. Todd Bonsall for an interview with Channel 69 News at the new County Vocational School located on the North Hunterdon High School campus. He has continued to hear overwhelmingly positive feedback from prospective students and their families about the exciting career pathways and hands-on learning opportunities that will be offered at the campus. Director Lanza reminded everyone that the next regularly scheduled Commissioner meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 21st, at the Delaware Township Municipal Building. Each year, the Board "takes county government on the road," meeting in various municipalities to stay connected and accessible to our residents. At this upcoming meeting, the Board will also receive recommendations for the 2025 Municipal Parks and Recreation Grant Program. VII. PRESENTATION FROM NEW JERSEY HIGHLANDS COUNCIL, MARYJUDE HADDOCK-WEILER Ms. Maryjude Haddock-Weiler from the New Jersey Highlands Council shared a presentation with the Commissioner Board. Ms. Haddock-Weiler provided background regarding the research, focus groups and public outreach sessions that took place last year in order to explore this new brand. She shared several examples of how the logo could be used. In closing, she announced the Highlands Council is currently working on creating a website, www.enjoynj.com, will be up and running soon. 1.
