The Bid Opening was held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. Harrison Lauer will provide an
update.
CONTRACT AWARDS
Residential Municipal Waste and Recycling Collection Contract
The bid opening for the Residential Municipal Waste and Recycling Collection was held on Wednesday,
March 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. Bids were received from County Hauling and Vogel Disposal Service. Philip
Weis, the attorney hired by the Borough of Fox Chapel to assist with the contract, has reviewed all
documentation provided by the two haulers and found them to be acceptable.

Motion to [award, deny, or award with conditions] the Residential Municipal Waste and Recycling
Collection Contract for March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2031, with two option years from March 1,
2031, through February 29, 2032, and March 1, 2032, through February 28, 2033, to the low bidder,
Vogel Disposal Service for Garage Door Service in the amount of $6,401,446.56 for March 1, 2026
through February 28, 2031, and $2,932,349.04 for the two option years, with a grand total of
$9,333,795.60.

Motion to [award, deny, or award with conditions] the Residential Municipal Waste and Recycling
Collection Contract for March 1, 2026, through February 28, 2031, with two option years from March 1,
2031, through February 29, 2032, and March 1, 2032, through February 28, 2033, to the low bidder,
Vogel Disposal Service for Curbside Collection Service in the amount of $6,129,118.80 for March 1,
2026 through February 28, 2031, and $2,807,464.32 for the two option years, with a grand total of
$8,936,583.12. This Contract Option also includes Optional Garage Door Service and Optional Container
Fee.
NEW BUSINESS
Negotiating Committee
The Fox Chapel Police Contract expires on December 31, 2025. The Public Works Department extended
their contract, which will now expire on December 31, 2026. Negotiations with the Police Department
typically begin in March or April. Due to a vacancy on the Negotiating Committee (there are three
members for this committee), a volunteer from Borough Council will need to fill the position.
Councilmembers Frederick Leech and Betsy Monroe are already members of this committee.
