CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

The City of Oskaloosa Civil Service Commission met Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
Andy Holmberg called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm with Wyndell Campbell and Beverly
Hutchinson present. Also present were Finance Director Amy Miller and Police Chief Ben Boeke.
Absent: None.
It was moved by Hutchinson, seconded by Campbell to approve the November 29, 2023,
minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Campbell, seconded by Hutchinson to decertify the patrol officer
certified list dated November 1, 2023. Motion carried unanimously.
The Commission discussed the testing process and proposed timeline for patrol officer.
It was moved by Campbell, seconded by Hutchinson to approve the schedule and process for
patrol officer testing. Motion carried unanimously. Below is the proposed timeline.
Applicant process:
Advertising: City Website Week of May 20, 2024
Applications due: June 28, 2024, by 4 p.m.
Testing July 26, 2024
Civil Service Meeting August 5-9, 2024
Background Check/Polygraph: August 2024
MMPI August 2024
Conditional Offer September 2024
Physical: September 2024
Hire: September 2024
It was moved by Wyndell, seconded by Hutchinson that the meeting adjourn. Motion
carried unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 5:04 p.m.
