The Mayor and Council of the City of Atmore met in a regular meeting on Monday, July 25, 2022 at City Hall at 4:00 p.m. with the following members present:  Webb Nall, Jerome Webster, Eunice Johnson, Shawn Lassiter and Chris Harrison. Mayor Staff was out of town.

A quorum being present Mayor Pro-temp Shawn Lassiter called the meeting to order. Eunice Johnson led in prayer followed by the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of the July 11, 2022 regular meeting – A motion was made by Eunice Johnson and seconded by Chris Harrison to approve the minutes of the July 11, 2022 meeting as written. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.

Resolution 2022-13 – Grass & Weed Nuisance – This resolution declares that a grass and weed nuisance as defined in Section II(A) of the City of Atmore’s Ordinance No. 02-2009 exists on 14 properties and the Code Enforcement Officer is directed to proceed with the abatement and removal of said nuisance as dictated by Ordinance No. 02-2009. This notice allows the owner 21 days to respond. A motion was made by Webb Nall and seconded by Jerome Webster to adopt Resolution 2022-13.  Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.

Letting Bids for ditch clean out – City engineers are getting together plans for a major clean out of ditches throughout the city. Bids will be let on the project when engineers have a cost estimate. The plan is to divide the city into four quadrants. The project will be paid for out of gas tax money and general fund money. A motion was made by Chris Harrison and seconded by Webb Nall to approve letting of bids for ditch clean out. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.
