1. CALL THE ROLL AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM IS PRESENT
With a quorum of the Parks Board Members present, the Regular Meeting of the Spring Valley
Village City Parks and Greenspace Board was called to order by Assistant to the City
Administrator, Abbey Anderson at 6:03 p.m.

2. APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
2.1 Minutes for the Regular Called Parks and Greenspace Board Meeting on June 17,
2025.
Member Pokorski made a motion to approve the minutes for the Regular Called Parks and
Greenspace Board Meeting on June 17, 2025, and Member Laxmidas seconded the motion.
Motion carried 5-0.
3. OLD BUSINESS
3.1 DISCUSSION CONCERNING: Planning of Future City Events and Activities
Assistant to the City Administrator Abbey Anderson opened the discussion with a summary of
events that have just passed, including comments and ideas for these same events in the future.
She also went over a brief summary of upcoming events such as the fall movie nights, music in
the park, and the holiday tree lighting. There was continued discussion of additional ideas for the
upcoming events, but the overall discussion centered on the itinerary and activities for the
holiday tree lighting. The recommendation from the Parks and Greenspace Board for the holiday
tree lighting were as follows: a DJ for music throughout the event, the possibility of additional
food vendors other than the ones that were mentioned by Ms. Anderson, an ornament/cookies
decorating station, the Grinch for photo opportunities, additional lighting throughout the park
and season, and the City coloring contest.
4. NEW BUSINESS
4.1 CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION CONCERNING: Election of a

Parks and Greenspace Board Vice Chairperson
Member Beasley made a motion to appoint Member Pokorski as Vice Chairman for the Parks
and Greenspace Board, and Member Laxmidas seconded the motion. Motion carried 5-0.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Member Vincent motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:47 p.m., and Member Beasley seconded
the motion. Motion carried 5-0.
