1. Call Meeting to Order / Motion for each board to approve agenda
a) Board of Supervisors (Gloria Carr, Chair)
b) Emergency Management Commission (Jeff Crooks, Chair)
c) 911 Service Board (Ben Chatfield, Chair)
d) Communications Advisory Board (Frank Rottinghaus, Chair)
2. Transfer of duties from Floyd County 911 Service Board to Floyd County Emergency Management /
Action by each board, if needed
a) Under Iowa Code counties could voluntarily exercise this option. Both the 911 and Emergency
Management boards would need to approve a voluntary transfer.
b) A new legislative bill, SF2458 changes this as an option to a mandate. The legislative bill made it
through the funnel but has not gone to a vote.
c) Voluntary or mandatory, this does not change the make up of the members of the Emergency
Management Commission.
3. Transfer of 911 Coordinator duties / Action by each board, if needed
a) Jen Solomon, 911 Coordinator, submitted her resignation effective March 6. Jason Webster,
Emergency Management Coordinator, is interested in taking on these duties along with his EM
position. Disposition of 911 Coordination duties needs to be addressed.
4. Transition of overseeing Dispatch Department from the Board of Supervisors to Emergency
Management / Action by each board, if needed
a) Emergency Management Commissioners vote on whether it is acceptable for Jason to oversee
dispatch.
5. Communications Advisory Board (28E) – Is there a need for this board to continue or reconfigure?
