REGULAR MEETING OF THE GREENBELT CITY COUNCIL held November 10, 2025.
Mayor Jordan called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL was answered by Councilmembers Frankie Santos Fritz, Amy E. Knesel, Danielle
P. McKinney, Jenni A. Pompi, Silke I. Pope, Kristen L.K. Weaver, and Mayor Emmett V.
Jordan.
ALSO PRESENT were Josué Salmerón, City Manager; Timothy George, Assistant City
Manager; John Mason, Economic Development Manager; James Wisniewski, Acting Public
Information Officer; Bryce Rusk, Production Associate; Jamarie Spencer, Production Assistant;
and Bonita Anderson, City Clerk.
Mayor Jordan asked for a moment of silence for residents who passed since the last meeting.
Councilmember Pope then led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, and Councilmember Pompi
recited the Greenbelt Community Pledge.
CERTIFICATION OF FINAL COUNT: Ms. Anderson reported that in accordance with Section
8-9 of the City Code, she had posted on the bulletin board in the Municipal Building the
Certification of Final Count of the Regular Council Election held Tuesday, November 4, 2025,
as certified to the City Clerk by the chair and members of the Board of Elections. She said a
copy of the Board’s Certification of Final Count was also provided to all the candidates in the
City Council race. Early voting and Mail-In ballots were accounted for and tallied by three
election clerks in the Council Room of the Municipal Building in the presence of at least four
members of the Board of Elections.
The results of the November 4, 2025, Regular Election for City Council in order of ballot were:

There were 3,344 ballots cast. Seven of the ten candidates received a number of votes equal to or
more than 40% of the total ballots cast. In accordance with the requirements of Section 31 of the
City Charter, the following seven candidates were elected to serve as member of the Council for a
two-year term of office:

OATH OF OFFICE: Frankie Santos Fritz, Emmett V. Jordan, Amy Knesel, Danielle P.
McKinney, Jenni A. Pompi, Silke I. Pope, and Kristen L.K. Weaver took and subscribed to the
oath of office administered by Mahasin El Amin, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
County, as prescribed by Section 71 of the City Charter and state law. Copies of the executed
oaths of office, attested to by the City Clerk, will be filed in the City Clerk's office.
ELECTION OF TEMPORARY CHAIRPERSON: Councilmember Pompi nominated
Councilmember McKinney to serve as temporary chairperson. Councilmember Knesel seconded
the motion, which carried unanimously.
ELECTION OF MAYOR: In accordance with Section 6 of the City Charter, Councilmember
McKinney called for nominations for the position of Mayor. Councilmember Weaver moved
that Emmett V. Jordan be nominated to serve as Mayor of the City of Greenbelt for the 46th term
of Council. Councilmember Pope seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
ADMINISTRATION OF OATH OF OFFICE TO MAYOR: Emmett V. Jordan recited and
subscribed to the oath of office before Mahasin El Amin, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince
George's County, as required by Section 71 of the City Charter and state law. Mayor Jordan then
assumed the gavel from Councilmember McKinney. Congratulations were extended to Mayor
Jordan by the rest of Council.
STATEMENT BY MAYOR: Mayor Jordan expressed his gratitude to all the residents for
electing him to serve as Mayor for a new term. He also thanked all the candidates who had
participated in the election process. Mayor Jordan said he looked forward to working together
with all members of Council for a successful new term.
ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEM: Mayor Jordan called for nominations for Mayor Pro Tem.
Mayor Jordan moved that Kristen L.K. Weaver be named to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.
Councilmember Fritz seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
STATEMENTS BY MAYOR PRO TEM AND MEMBERS OF COUNCIL: Mayor Pro Tem
Weaver and Councilmembers Fritz, Knesel, McKinney, Pompi, and Pope all made statements
thanking the voters, their supporters, all the candidates, the Board of Elections, and City staff.
They said they looked forward to working with Mayor Jordan and their fellow council members
in the best interests of the City's residents.

ADJOURNMENT: Councilmember Pompi made a motion to adjourn. Councilmember Pope
seconded. The motion passed 7-0. Mayor Jordan adjourned the Charter Meeting of November
10, 2055, at 8:13 p.m.
