Meeting minutes for the 7th of January 2026 Waukee Public Art Advisory Commission
The January 7, 2026 meeting was called to order at 5:31pm.
Roll Call: The following commissioners were present- Abbey Christensen, Wes Mallgren , Amy
Schrodt, Katheryn Murray, Jon Eichorn, Kenny Thorson, and Megan Giudicessi
Agenda Approval: Motion by Commissioner Murray to approve the agenda for the January 7, 2026
Waukee Public Art and Advisory Commission meeting, Seconded by Commissioner Schrodt Ayes:
Mallgren, Giudicessi, Eichorn, Thorson, Christensen. Nays: None. Motion Carried.
Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes:
Motion by Commissioner Murray to approve the meeting minutes from August 27, 2025 meeting.
Seconded by Schrodt. Ayes: Giudicessi, Mallgren, Christensen, Eichorn, Thorson. Nays: None. Motion

Public Safety Building
 RFP in November and selecting from 5 artists.
 Artist has been selected
 Installation goal for August 2026 before the Public Safety Day celebration
Spring Crest
 Waiting for seed to get established.
 Will start the RFP process soon.
 Installation goal by end of summer 2026
NEXT
Alice’s Road Roundabout
 Alice’s Road closed due to deteriorated road and potholes due to 2025 weather elements.
Construction will re-start Spring with Roundabout portion being ready for completion by next
year.
Underpass Projects
 Potential next project
 Matt connecting with fellow cities to learn details around budget & maintenance.
Two commissioners’ term expires this month. Working with Mayor Clarke.
