Committee Members Absent: Jim Sicks, Tabria Cornish
Staff present: Cheryl Hannan, Gavin Woolford, Scott Shores
Meeting was called to order at 6:02 PM
Committee members introduced themselves.
Discussed the mission of the committee and organizational items such as need for a recurring
meeting schedule, a chairman and vice chairman, and meeting attendance and participation.
Greg Meekins made a motion to elect Jim Sicks as Chairman. Barbara Knepp seconded. All
voted in favor.
Barbara Knepp made a motion to elect Greg Meekins as vice chairman. Carlos Estin seconded.
All in favor.
Everyone agreed to use the end of October as our target delivery date and to reach that goal we
should have weekly meetings with “homework” done in between. Tentatively, Thursdays at 6
pm was agreed, but will be confirmed at the Sept. 14th meeting once everyone has a chance to
review their schedules. Meetings should be confined to 1 hour (e.g., 6 -7 PM)
Discussed materials previously distributed at a City Council Work session. Clarified data and
objectives.
Requested City staff to provide a map that details block demographics for blocks that are on the
borders of the existing wards and distribute it in advance of the next meeting.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:05 PM.
