• Acknowledgement of Chris Brown's resignation from the Board to accept a position with
the state of Ohio.
• Updates on the New Growth Partnership.
• Workforce Development Update: Discussion on the continued progress of workforce
initiatives, including developments at the Lorain County mega-site and collaboration
with Lorain County Community College and JVS.
• Strategic Planning and Metrics: Report on the implementation of a "community
scoreboard" to track key metrics such as certificates, degrees, and job placements, as
discussed with Lt. Governor Tressel.
• Financial Update: Overview of the impact of the 9% budget cut and strategies for
resource allocation and cost optimization.
Workforce Development Agency -Director’s Update
• Local & Regional Plan Updates:
• Electronic Files Transition: Update on the progress of transitioning to electronic files
and records, and the timeline for completion by the 2026 deadline.
• Youth Workforce Initiatives: Report on efforts to engage out-of-school youth,
including new partnerships with school superintendents and juvenile detention centers.
• JVS and Institutional Collaboration: Progress report on improving collaboration with
JVS and other educational institutions to align with county-wide workforce goals
• Lorain County Community College: Updates on Bridges to Success Program.
