Commission Meeting Minutes
Date: February 24, 2026

Attendees: Scott Shamberg, David Coyne, Trustee Iverson, Alex Franz, Avi Nutkis, Ujjval
Patel, Michael Lonero, Michael Calder, Ken Grossman, Christopher Oh, Michael
Lamprecht and Vijay Sanghvi. Absent: Catherine Herscher and Syed Mahmood.
1. Call to Order
Scott called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Motion by Avi Nutkis. Seconded by
Ujjval Patel. All approved.
2. Welcome and Introductions
Scott announced that David Coyne was appointed as Vice Chair of the
Commission.
3. Approve minutes from November 18, 2025.
Motion by David Coyne. Seconded by Avi Nutkis. All approved.
4. Discussion Non-Programming Items
• Spring Greening Event
Alex reminded the group that the event is Sunday, April 12. Morning and
afternoon timeslots are available for volunteers. Alex will share the
information when he sends out the minutes.
• Technology Glossary
Michael Lamprecht will share new items with Alex.
• School Science Fair Judging
Alex reminded the judges that the fair is on Saturday, March 7 at Wheeling
High School and that attends should try to arrive around 9 a.m.

• 4th of July Parade
The group discussed having a presence at the Skokie 4th of July Parade and
ultimately decided not to in 2026.
5. Discussion on Programming
• Home Medical Technology
There was nothing new to report.
• STAT Website – How the Village is Using Tech
Alex will complete the video in the spring/early summer.
• A Program about Navigating Aggressive Sales Tactics
Michael will send new information to Alex when complete.
• Program on New Technology in Cars
David shared a copy of the one-pager with Alex and Scott prior to the
meeting. Alex will have a print out at the next meeting and will post to the
webpage.
• Crypto Scams Program
Alex explained that the event is set for March 28 and requested a press
release from the team.
• General AI Program
The team is targeting Spring and Fall presentations.
• Cybersecurity
Avi is working with PD to schedule a presentation in the coming months and
the annual event in the fall.
• Social Media Literacy for Parents
The team is targeting a summer event before school starts.
• Sustainable Technology
Alex suggested that the team develop an outline for the event so that he can
share it with SEAC.
• CUB Event
Alex will contact CUB as the event date draws closer.

7. Public Comment
Resident, David Dalka, emailed a comment regarding residential fiber internet.
A resident spoke about expanding AT&T fiber to his home.
8. Next Meeting
The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 7 p.m.
