Lund Town Council
Minutes of Meeting for
February 17, 2026
Chairman Lorin Peacock brought the meeting to order at 7:02 PM.
Pledge of Allegiance
Approval of minutes for meeting held January 20, 2026. Motioned by Lee Ringueberg and
seconded by Katie Carter. All members present approved.
Public Comment: Christiann Griffin, representing the Lund Volunteer Fire Department, thanked
the council for the money given for the fireworks last year. She asked that the council match the
$1,500.00 donation for the 2026 fireworks. This proposal was motioned by Lee Ringueberg and
seconded by Moroni Perez. All members present, agreed.
Gilbert Griffin, representing the Lund Rodeo Association, asked for a $600.00 donation for
advertising the 2026 rodeo. Gilbert brought up plans for a new announcer’s stand. Gilbert has
been working with Caroline McIntosh to find grants to help support this project.
Lorin Peacock – Led the council discussion, names of community members living inside the
town limits were brought up to fill a vacant spot on the council.
Lee Ringueberg – Reported on the progress being made to put in lights on the back street. A
light would be placed on the corner of First South, one on the corner of First North and one one
the corner of 2nd North. Center street would need a new pole for a light. Lee will check with
Jake Brunson to estimate the cost of the pole.
Katie Carter – Will make phone calls to Cole concerning the Lund Cemetery watering system.
Also, make an agenda for the Cinco De Mayo party.
Moroni Perez – Made a motion to buy a new blade for Kelvin Christensen to replace the blade
he used to help the town council make flag poles and the town welcome signs. Lee Ringueberg
motioned to approve and Katie Carter seconded the motion. All approved. Tim Moser has
agreed to make appreciation plaques free of charge if the council will provide the wood
(hickory).
Shawn Hamilton– . Will oversee the cleanup of the metal recycling dump. The tree limb dump
debris is ready to be burned.
Moroni Perez motioned to adjourn, Lee Ringueberg seconded and all members present
approved. The next meeting will be held March 17, 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Lund Community
Building.
