TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVIDUALS VISIBLE TO LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. MADAM CLERK, PLEASE CALL THE ROLL. TRUSTEE ESTRADA-BOLTE. HERE. TRUSTEE ZABAJNEVICH. HERE. TRUSTEE COUNTY. HERE. TRUSTEE SARGENT. HERE. TRUSTEE KAMINSKI. HERE. TRUSTEE ROLINO. HERE. PRESIDENT SAVIANO. HERE. OKAY, DO WE HAVE ANY PUBLIC COMMENT TONIGHT? OKAY, SEEING NONE, We'll move on to committee reports. Nothing for me this evening, sir. Our youth commission met, President Saviano, our youth commission met on the 27th of January. Wolves Game, which was this past weekend, was very well attended with 130 residents. We have a Nerf battle event on February 7th at Parks and Rec. And Bocce with Bunny, April 18th. Very good. Mr. President, this past Monday, January 27th, Planned Zoning and Development held a special hearing in these village chambers to address the off-street parking concerns in our zoning code for established locations within our map. We currently have some vacancies on Belmont Avenue that we have some potential interested businesses looking to relocate into. However, our parking requirements are a little bit antiquated for the current times or needs. So Planned Zoning and Development made a unanimous recommendation to make that amendment, which we will be voting on this evening. Thank you. Thank you, Mr. President. I just wanted to make the community aware that our high school principal, Amanda Brody Rico, received the High School Illinois Principal of the Year Award by the Illinois Principals Association, which I think is something we should all know and be proud of. Our future is with these children, and she's leading them. Great. No report, Mr. President. Mr. President, the Finance Committee met this evening at 5.30 p.m., reviewed the... Bills and vouchers for the month of January and unanimously recommended staying for approval tonight. Mr. President, Elmwood Park Restaurant Week will begin on February 21st and run through March 2nd. Restaurant Week will give food lovers the opportunity to sample some of Elmwood Park's finest local establishments. Restaurants will be offering special menus and pricing during this period. You can visit the Village website for a complete list of participating restaurants. I'm also excited to mention our annual fight night featuring live amateur boxing will take place at the Parks and Rec Center on Friday, February 21st. Doors will open at 6.30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. sharp. And it looks like we still have a few tickets still available. Thank you. No report tonight from you, Mr. President. Mr. Volpe? Mr. President, the Board will consider an agreement with Mad Bomber to perform a fireworks show at the Village's July 4th celebration at the high school. As always, the show and its cost will be shared by the Village and the Oak Park Country Club. The total cost is $30,000. The Village's share is $15,000. The Board will consider a contract with Michael Neary to coordinate all Village-sponsored special events in 2025. This includes the car shows, the concerts in the circle, as well as the July 4th Parade and Fireworks Festival, as well as the Taste of Elmwood Park. Michael has coordinated the Village events for now over 10 years. He's been instrumental in the growth and success of our events. In 2024, with Michael's assistance, the Village added a family-friendly wrestling event. It was so popular that in 2025, we plan to add two wrestling shows to the events calendar. Cost for Michael's services is $28,800 per year. Paid in equal monthly installments as additional compensation, the Village provides family health insurance coverage to Michael. The Board will consider a municipal tree ordinance that will govern the planting and care of trees on public property. The Director of Public Works shall have the authority and responsibility to plant, prune, maintain, and remove trees following best management practices published by the International Society of Arboriculture and conforming to the standards published by the American National Standards Institute. In 2024, Elmwood Park planted nearly 300 new trees with hopes of redeveloping the area's tree canopy. Elmwood Park residents can request a tree in their parkway anytime and one will be planted, some at no charge at all. The village is part of the West Suburban Tree Consortium and as such can procure trees at low cost. Savings are of course passed on to our residents. As Trustee Zavaznovic reported, the board will consider an amendment tonight to the zoning code, which is related to the parking requirements for a bakery located in a B1 district along Balmain Avenue. The PCD conducted a public hearing related to the amendment, and tonight you'll consider their unanimous recommendation to approve. An amendment, it says that whenever there occurs a change in use to a bakery of an existing building of no less than 4,000 square feet, the existing off-street parking provisions shall not be applicable. This shall allow the village to consider approval of a bakery that is considering opening on the 7700 block of West Belmont. And lastly, the board will consider an ordinance to exempt all employers within Elmwood Park from the requirements of the Cook County paid leave ordinance. Thank you, Mr. Volpe. As you can see, we've We increasingly do well on economic development. We have our Pompei Bakery going in on a circle. We have a Greek restaurant coming in on North Avenue. We've got now this bakery, and we're close to closing the deal on a new hardware store on Harlem Avenue. So we've been very fortunate, working hard, promoting the village has worked as far as businesses wanting to come to Elmwood Park and do business here. Just a reminder, on the 15th of this month, we're having a press conference, probably right in this room, with our congressional delegation and all our local elected officials announcing another grant we received from the Federal Railroad Administration for $13.1 million towards our underpass project. So we're getting there in funding, and we're excited about it. So we want to make sure we announce this project THIS PROJECT AGAIN, AND WE'RE GETTING CLOSER, HOPEFULLY, TO A RIBBON CUTTING, AND WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS WHOLE SITUATION NOW.
