The committee reviewed the following 2026 opioid funding requests:

Total $746,991.00
The 2025 allocation was $230,542.00 in opioid funds and $166,247.00 in marijuana tax funds.
Initially there was a projection of $230,000.00 to be spent each year over the next 18 years,
however, an additional settlement of $260,969.00 has been received this year. To date,
Montcalm County has received $4,791,952.00. The committee agreed to limit yearly spending
to ensure funding is available in future years.

After much discussion on the requests, the committee is recommending the following in opioid
and marijuana funding:

Committee members will make a recommendation to the Board of Commissioners at their
meeting on November 24, 2025. Kate Behrenwald, Liz Braddock and Jim Dimitriou are willing
to present an overview of the 2025 spending and the recommendation for 2026.
The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for August of 2026 to review progress reports and
discuss any changes that are necessary for the funding application for 2027.
