Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws
Jamie talked about the Commissioners being receptive to making the change to a Friends Group.
Our benefactor this year gave us a larger donation than they normally do.
H. Speir expressed concerns regarding the Bylaws. He talked about this being a huge responsibility for
the Chair person and that it was going to be more work for the board vs. what was required now.
J. Beechey mentioned that there will be a lot more support through the County. Right now all we do with
the funding is scholarships for programs. K. Story mentioned that she was on the Friends of the Library
and how it worked.
Conversations regarding it being bonded or insured.
H. Speir just wants to make sure that everyone knows that additional time will be required to be on this
board.
Shore Strategies Stakeholders interviews for LPPRP
K. Stork talked about the LPPRP surveys and some of the results that have come. They created different
types of surveys to allow us to see where the results came from.
HSC award J. Beechey discussed that we applied for a grant through HSC for $10,000.00. We will be
using this money to purchase 14 youth kayaks and 14 youth mountain bikes. We want to start expanding
opportunities for environmental education. This was started last year through Shore Rivers.
Opiod Grant J. Beechey mentioned that we applied for a $75,000.00 grant from the Opiod Funds.
This would be a summer camp program at CRMS and LMS for education on Opiod use.
