Introduction & Roll Call:
The February meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee was called to
order by Chairman Scott Ellis at 5:31 PM.
Attendance:

Approval of Minutes:
Motion to accept and approve the January minutes as written: Logan Krause moved,
Brandon Martini seconded; Passed by unanimous consent.

● Appointing new vice chair
○ Brandon Martini has nominated himself as vice chair; no other
nominations on the floor
○ Kady Booth motions to approve Brandon Martini as vice chair; Beth
Groteluseschenm seconds; passed by unanimous consent

● Carroll Park
○ Sinclair Recreation is the winning bidder
○ Shelby provided materials of Sinclair’s work
○ Bid will go to the commission; Public input meeting is proposed for March
16 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM (tentative)
■ Bid with public input will be discussed at the March meeting. Bidder
will have two weeks to put together final designs with any tweaks
after public input meeting
■ Parks comm to prepare questions for Sinclair Recreation at public
input meeting; colors, themes, ADA accessibility, etc.
○ Shelby will see if Sinclair is attending the public input meeting and if they
are bringing materials to present the concepts
● Letter of Support - BACF grants
○ Park programming run by the Parks department
■ Programming focuses: movies in the park (licensing through
Swank, materials, etc); fitness programming (45 min/1 hr long
sessions in the parks); expanding into other parks (not just
Wenonah)
○ Motion to support letters of support for BACF grant funding
○ Kendall moves; Brandon seconded; passed unanimously
Staff Comments:
1. St. Patrick’s Day Parade
○ Looking for volunteers to be pacers and pick up litter throughout the
parade line - contact Jan Brow if interested
2. Fireworks Festival Press Conference
3. Day of Caring - if you want to participate, contact Shelby
○ Did not add Vets Park to Day of Caring requests; Parks dept will handle
