Compensation Commission Meeting December 4, 2025 Page | 1 COMPENSATION COMMISSION MEETING Fenton City Hall Conference Room Thursday, December 4, 2025 6:30 PM Douglas Tebo called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. ROLL CALL: Present: Riggs, Senyko, Stickel, Tebo. Absent: Penwell. Also Present: Lynn Markland, City Manager; Jennifer Kienast, City Clerk. OATH OF OFFICE Kienast administered the Oath of Office to Riggs, Senyko, Stickel, and Tebo. ELECTION OF COMMISSION CHAIR A motion was made by Riggs and supported by Stickel to reappoint Tebo as Chair of the Commission. YEAS: Riggs, Senyko, Stickel, Tebo. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Penwell. Motion carried by roll call vote. CONSIDERATION OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMPENSATION Markland presented the MML compensation survey of similar communities. Commission members reviewed, discussed, and proposed appropriate compensation figures. A motion was made by Riggs and supported by Stickel to compensate Council Members in the amount of $105 per Council meeting, and $1,498 lump sum; and compensate the Mayor in the amount of $105 per Council meeting and $2,450 lump sum. The commission discussed rounding the figures up. Motion was amended as follows: An amended motion was made by Riggs and supported by Senyko to approve compensation for Council Members and Mayor as follows: Council Members Mayor $105 Per Council Meeting $105 Per Council Meeting $1,500 Lump Sum to be paid once per year $2,500 Lump Sum to be paid once per year Maximum number of meetings will remain at 45. New compensation will be effective January 1, 2026. YEAS: Senyko, Stickel, Tebo, Riggs. NAYS: None. ABSENT: Penwell. Motion carried by roll call vote. PUBLIC COMMENTS – None.
