The board discussed how the Coalition will operate with committees. CADCA: Dalmat will be attending, but a Coalition member [PAGE 2] also should attend. She will attend three trainings in Albany. Lead and Seed should be established within six weeks. It is Project Coordinator Update covered in the DFC grant. It will involve 18 students in grades 8 and 9, with a few from grade 10, and six adults. We will hire an independent contractor to oversee with Watkins Glen and Odessa-Montour school districts. The focus will be on drug prevention and bullying. We need to find donors for food for the two-day training. Surveys will be the same as before. She is discussing dates with the schools. Hope for late February or early March. Epiphany Community Services has been selected to do evaluations. The COMET report is almost finished. She is working on the DFC continuation grant. She is working on a media plan to publicize the grant and its project. The subcommittees will start meeting in February. The Subcommittee Updates committees are: Alcohol, Marijuana, Tobacco and Parent/Youth. Schroeder and Dalmat will attend each initial meeting to discuss the logic model and work plan. Robbins reports that STAC Reality Check is showing the Coalition Member Update movie “Rango” at the Glen Theater on Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. Part of a “stomp” for smoke-free movie awareness. This is a program to recognize exemplary efforts by [PAGE 3] Shining Star Recognitions individuals, businesses and organizations that align with SCCUDD’s mission.
