The Mayor and Council of The City of Atmore met in a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the city hall with the following members present: Webb Nall, Jerome Webster, Eunice Johnson, Shawn Lassiter, and Chris Harrison. A quorum being present Mayor Staff called the meeting to order. Eunice Johnson led in prayer followed by the pledge of allegiance. Minutes of the September 26, 2022 regular meeting – A motion was made by Chris Harrison and seconded by Shawn Lassiter to approve the minutes of the September 26, 2022 regular meeting as written. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved. Accounts Payable – A motion was made by Webb Nall and seconded by Jerome Webster to approve the accounts payable. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved. Halloween Trick or Treat hours – Mayor Staff announced that Halloween would be observed on October 31st from 5-8 p.m. Resolution 2022-20 – Paving Project – This resolution approves funding the 2022 Street Resurfacing Project and hiring Civil Southeast to provide all engineering services. A motion was made by Eunice Johnson and seconded by Chris Harrison to suspend the rules and regulations for immediate consideration of Resolution 2022-20. A motion was made by Webb Nall and seconded by Jerome Webster to adopt Resolution 2022-20. Fred Knight – Candlelight Service – Mr. Knight came before the council requesting permission to hold a candlelight service on October 15th at Houston Avery Park from 2-10 p.m. It is a free fun day event in honor of his friend that died. A motion was made by Jerome Webster and seconded by Shawn Lassiter to approve the request. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.
