The Mayor and Council of The City of Atmore met in a regular meeting on Monday, June 27, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the city hall with the following members present:  Webb Nall, Jerome Webster, Eunice Johnson, Shawn Lassiter, and Chris Harrison.

A quorum being present Mayor Staff called the meeting to order. Councilmember Johnson led in prayer followed by the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of the June 13, 2022 regular meeting – A motion was made by Shawn Lassiter and seconded by Webb Nall to approve the minutes of the June 13, 2022 meeting as written. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.

Contract of Purchase and Sale – Wyn Atmore LLC – This contract is between the City of Atmore and Wyn Atmore LLC. for the sale of property to Wyn Atmore LLC for $9.00/square foot for the purpose of building a Microtel Hotel at Rivercane.  A motion was made by Eunice Johnson and seconded by Webb Nall to approve the contract of Purchase and Sale. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.

Resolution 2022-12 – West Escambia Utilities – WEU has agreed to sell approximately 135 acres to the State of Alabama as part of the State’s planned construction of a new prison in Escambia County. The Code of Alabama 11-530-314(a)(10), requires that should WEU choose to dispose of real property, the consent of the municipality in which is incorporated is required. This resolution approves the contract for the sale of the real property. A motion was made by Chris Harrison and seconded by Webb Nall to approve Resolution 2022-12. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.
