Frankfort Human Rights Commission
February 3, 2026, 5:00 p.m.
City Hall
Meeting was called to order at 5:12 p.m. by Chair Kristie Powe. Members present were
Kristie Powe, Lisa Gabbard, Nichell Brown, and Reneé Scott.
No guests were present.
Previous meeting minutes were approved, Kristie Powe making the motion, Nichell Brown
seconding, and all members voting in favor.
Jason Hart, Fairness Officer, was not present and let Kristie know that there were no
pending cases.
There were no Committee Reports.
In Old Business, the group discussed holding a meeting with partner organizations that
assist local citizens. What would talking points be? Where are we on a community resource
list?
In New Business, Kristie told the group that she’s been looking into on-line training for the
Commission. She will be sending a link to a list called “Know Your Rights”.
There was discussion of the impacts of ICE raids in Frankfort; Kristie mentioned that
Yolanda Diaz had some concerns about this issue. Kristie has reached out to her via email
to discuss.
The group set up Bill Watch on the state legislative website to monitor bill progress and
briefly discussed HB361/SB86.
In Upcoming Events, a No Kings rally on 3/28 was mentioned.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.
