Corn Palace Entertainment Board Meeting 1-13-26 Minutes
City Council Chambers, City Hall, 612 N. Main St.
1. Call to Order
Meeting called to order by: John Foster at 4 p.m.
2. Corn Palace Entertainment Board Members Present: Sara Deakins, Johanna Allen, John
Foster, Jason Bates, Nancy Conzemius, Giovanni Lanier, Tim Goldammer
Absent: Steve Morgan Jory Hansen
Others Present: Dave Sietsema, Mayor Hanson, Stephanie Ellwein and Craig Stucky
3. Approval of Agenda: Motion by Allen second by Bates. Motion approved.
4. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Lanier and Second by Bates. Motion Approved.
5. Citizen’s Input: No Citizen’s Input was heard after offering time.
6. Directors Report: Sietsema talked about the events since the last meeting including
Christmas Dance Recital, 42 basketball games and 46 practices that have been held in
the last month. The armory was used 25 out of 26 possible days in December. Basketball
Classics coming in the next weeks, Gymnastics and State Hockey Event. Social Media
States – Facebook more than 4 million views last year from 393 posts. 63 Reels yielded
more than 839,000 views.
7. Board Reviewed the State’s Open Meeting Policy for the 2026 year. No questions.
Included also was a brochure from the State in the packet to answer further questions.
Video Presentation was made and gone through page-by-page for the board.
8. 2026 Corn Palace Rates – Board reviewed and passed unanimously new rates for the
2026 Corn Palace. Motion by Goldammer and Second by Allen to approve rates and
adopt as written the Corn Palace Rental Rates.
9. Executive Session: – Motion by Goldammer and seconded by Lanier to enter into
Executive Session per State Statute. No action was taken following Session.
10. Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 5:12 p.m. by Foster.
