[PAGE 1] The Pottawatomie County Board of County Commissioners met in a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. The following members were present: Melissa Dennis, Chairman, Abby Thompson and Greg Rush, Members, Stephanie Hutchcraft, 1st Deputy County Clerk, Stacy Bateman-Woods, ADA. GUESTS- Willis Snowden, React EMS, Robin Ueltzen, Pott Co 911, Jennifer Freeman, PCPSC, Suzie Campbell, Countywide & Sun, Cody Roe, City of McLoud, Ken Landry, Pott Co Historical Society, Kurt Schultz, Maintenance, Freeland Wood, Sheriff, Phil Solinger, Pott County GOP, Aaron Scott, Pott Co EM, and Kellie Clay, Pott Co Admin, were all welcomed to today’s meeting. UPDATE FACILITIES MAINTENANCE- There were 34 maintenance tasks, including 4 pm’s. The sidewalks were pre-treated around the courthouse complex which made snow and ice removal a little less challenging. UPDATE PUBLIC SAFETY CENTER- The current number of inmates is 290. There are 247 males and 43 females. Fifty were booked-in and 50 released. Two inmates were placed on safety observations. UPDATE POTT CO 911- There were 14 address points created/edited. UPDATE POTT CO EM- There was one drone response. Touch-a-Truck will be April 11, 2026. They are conducting meetings with Everbridge for mass notification and Avive AED’s. Two shelters were mapped in OneMap. UPDATE POTT COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE- There was an officer involved shooting that is being investigated by OSBI. TECUMSEH PUBLIC SCHOOLS- Mrs. Dennis made a motion to approve Tecumseh Public Schools to utilize a portion of their sales tax funds to purchase new computers from Trafera, TIPS #230105 for $38,610.00. Seconded by Mrs. Thompson the vote was: AYE- Rush, Thompson, Dennis. MINUTES- A motion was made by Mr. Rush and seconded by Mrs. Thompson to approve the minutes of January 20, 2026. The motion carried with the following vote: AYE- Rush, Thompson, Dennis. PAYROLL- Mrs. Dennis made a motion to approve payroll for January 1 thru January 15, 2026 with 24 raises in the sheriff’s office and 1 raise in general government. Seconded by Mrs. Thompson the vote was: AYE- Thompson, Rush, Dennis. TRANSFERS OF APPROPRIATIONS- No transfers were submitted for approval. BLANKET PURCHASE ORDERS- Mr. Rush made a motion to approve the blanket purchase orders. Seconded by Mrs. Thompson the vote was: AYE- Thompson, Rush, Dennis. POTT COUNTY FIREFIGHTER’S MUSEUM- Mrs. Dennis made a motion to approve a request for $50,000 to the Pottawatomie County Firefighter’s Museum, contingent on receiving estimates/quotes for proper bidding process. Seconded by Mr. Rush the vote was: AYE- Rush, Thompson, Dennis. FALLEN HERO MONUMENT- A motion was made by Mrs. Dennis and seconded by Mrs. Thompson to approve a request of $6100.00 from use tax, for a new fallen hero monument in front of the county courthouse. The motion carried with the following vote: AYE- Rush, Thompson, Dennis. BURN BAN RESOLUTION- No action was needed for a burn ban resolution. The current ban expired this morning at 9:23 a.m. PROPERTY LOCATED AT 316 N BROADWAY- Mrs. Dennis made a motion to authorize Assistant DA, Stacy Bateman-Woods, to notify surrounding properties next to 316 N Broadway, their intentions for demolition. She also wanted new quotes for demolition as there is a common wall shared by other properties. Seconded by Mr. Rush the vote was: AYE- Rush, Thompson, Dennis. GRAYKEY LICENSE- No action was taken regarding renewal of GrayKey license for digital forensics. DISPOSAL RESOLUTION- A motion was made by Mr. Rush to approve the following Disposal Resolution for Emergency Management: ITEM DISPOSED: Ford F-250 (2021); S/N: 1FT7W2B63MED52413; DATE ACQUIRED: Unknown; ACQUIRED FROM: Unknown; COST PRICE: Unknown; DATE DISPOSED: 1/27/2026; TRANSFERRED TO: React EMS Headquarters; PRICE RECEIVED: $35,000.00.
