The Mayor and Council met in a regular meeting on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the city hall with the following members present:  Webb Nall, Eunice Johnson, Shawn Lassiter, and Chris Harrison. Jerome Webster was out of town.

A quorum being present Mayor Staff called the meeting to order. Councilmember Johnson led in prayer followed by the pledge of allegiance.

Minutes of the August 8, 2022 regular meeting – A motion was made by Eunice Johnson and seconded by Webb Nall to approve the minutes of the August 8, 2022 meeting as written. Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.

Resolution 2022-15 – A grass and weed nuisance was declared July 25, 2022 on the properties listed in this resolution. Notice was properly given to the owners of the properties and it has been reported to the City that no owners of the listed properties have filed a written objection to the removal of the grass and weed nuisance. This resolution authorizes the code enforcement officer to proceed with the abatement and removal of the nuisance at each property. A motion was made by Webb Nall and seconded by Shawn Lassiter to approve the resolution.  Vote: all ayes. The motion was approved.

Councilmember Johnson reminded everyone that Patterson Street Fun Day is Saturday. She also stated that Kiwana’s Club of Atmore is getting started. They are meeting at the middle school at 5:30.

A motion was made by Webb Nall and seconded by Chris Harrison to adjourn. Vote: all ayes. The meeting was adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
